I am so happy to report that there is no casualty in the fire that broke out in one of the buildings of House Technology Industries Pte., Ltd (HTI) in the early evening of February 1, 2017, at the Cavite Economic Zone II in Gen. Trias, Cavite.
I am also delighted to report that as of 4:15 PM today, 03 February 2017, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) has officially declared a “fire out”.
I am likewise elated of the report from HTI that all the 3,500 employees that they have been trying to locate since the fire broke out at about 6:00 PM on February 1, 2017, have all been accounted for and are all safe.
Likewise, of the 104 employees who were brought to two hospitals because of varying degrees of injuries, only 39 are still in the hospital while 65 have all been sent home.
Of the 39, 27 are confined at the Divine Grace Medical Center while 12 are confined at the General Trias Maternity & Pediatric Hospital. I a few hours from now, The BFP will turn over the burnt building to the PNP/SOCO Team for the latter to conduct its investigation. PEZA will await the result of the PNP/SOCO investigation.
In the meantime, I have called for an urgent collaborative meeting between PEZA, CEZ, HTI, and BFP on Monday, 06 February 2017 to come out with additional measures to forestall similar incident in the future and for PEZA to advise all its Locator Companies on these enhanced safety measures. CPM
